Woodworking Health and Safety workshop

HSWNI Woodworking Health and Safety Workshop

This event is being organised by Health and Safety Works NI (HSWNI) in partnership with the Federation of Master Builders and Construction Skills in Northern Ireland.

It is taking place on Wednesday 28 October 2009 in South Eastern Regional College, Lisburn.

The cost is £20 per delegate which includes lunch, an information pack and a copy of the Woodworking Approved Code of Practice.  

This workshop is being held in a practical setting and will focus on the need to manage key risk areas within the industry including:

Machine safety - guarding and braking
Wood dust and local exhaust ventilation (LEV)
Manual Handling
Noise at work
Risk Assessment
Fork-lift trucks - driver training and maintenance

The event is aimed at owners, production managers, safety officers and HR managers, from woodworking businesses in Counties Antrim, Armagh and Down.
