Main Workplace Health Issues
Statistical data available from GB indicates that approximately 30 million working days are lost each year due to work related ill health, with the main factors being Work related Stress and Musculoskeletal Disorders. The Working for Health Strategy has concentrated on these two issues during its first three years and is continuing to do so, via the new strategic strands recently established under the Priority Workplace Health Programme Team.
This Programme Team will create specific campaigns and initiatives aimed at reducing the effects of Stress and MSD. It will also initiate a campaign focussing on disease reduction which will include other areas such as occupational asthma, noise induced hearing loss, dermatitis etc.
This area of the site will include links to relevant websites providing information and advice on these workplace topics.
